Karen lost her immediate family to cancer and then received her own cancer diagnosis. Living in subsidized housing, Martin faced his cancer and chemotherapy alone and frail. Jeannine managed HIV, her four kids and her home until her husband's death left her depressed and weak. Diagnosed with AIDS and shunned by family, Leonardo's weight dropped to 80 pounds.

 

        

These men and women had different challenges, but they had two life-sustaining things in common: MANNA and the support of our donors. Each person who made a donation last year to MANNA made hope a reality for them. And your current support of MANNA's 2009 Annual Fund will provide hope for future clients.

Here are just a few of the things our donors made possible in the past year.

• Every MANNA client now gets 100% nutrition (3 meals a day, every day of the week) delivered right to the door and all at no charge.

• 85% of MANNA clients report improvement in energy, emotional health, reduced stress and more meals eaten each day.

• MANNA now partners with a residential care facility for people with HIV/AIDS, providing family-style meals that meet all of the residents' nutritional needs.

 
Your annual fund gift will have just as great an impact in the coming year.

• MANNA will increase our daily client census by 25%, reaching 1,000 people in and around Philadelphia and South Jersey by the end of 2010.

• We will expand our education program so that our clients learn to properly nourish themselves, even on limited incomes, once they have achieved nutritional health.

• We will launch a two-year scientific analysis of health and related outcomes achieved through our nutrition program.
