What are gifts from your IRA?
If you’re age 70.5 or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can be a tax-smart way to support MANNA. QCDs allow you to make gifts directly from your IRA to MANNA while excluding the distribution from your taxable income.
In 2026, eligible donors can give up to $111,000 through a QCD. If you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), your QCD can also count toward satisfying that requirement.
Why give from your IRA?
A QCD can be an especially effective way to support MANNA for several reasons, including:
- Your gift can count toward your RMD if you are required to take one
- The amount of your QCD is excluded from your taxable income
- You can make an impact without first withdrawing funds yourself
Note: Because a QCD is excluded from your income, you generally cannot also claim the amount as a charitable income-tax deduction.
How do I make a gift from your IRA?
Making a QCD to MANNA starts with your IRA provider.

IRA distributions sometimes arrive without enough information for us to identify the donor. Letting us know in advance helps us properly acknowledge your gift.
Is a QCD right for me?
A QCD may be worth considering if you:
- Are age 70.5 or older
- Have an eligible IRA
- Want to make a charitable gift directly from your IRA
- Need to take an RMD and would like your charitable gift to count toward it
