At MANNA, we work every day to make sure our clients receive the medically tailored meals and nutrition education they need to fight and manage their disease. To help make that critical work possible, we also have a lot of fun raising funds!

It is in that spirit that we celebrate our 30th annual Pie in the Sky fundraiser. For three decades, MANNA pies have been served on Thanksgiving tables across the region. In fact, more than 300 MANNA staff and volunteers will sell, bake, and distribute some 9,000 pies this year. With each pie averaging 10 inches in diameter, that’s the equivalent of a mile and a half of pies!

Pie in the Sky also kicks off our holiday celebrations with our MANNA family, which culminates in a Thanksgiving morning meal delivery to MANNA clients. Volunteers deliver delicious, complete Thanksgiving meals to our clients and their dependents to ensure everyone can enjoy and participate in the holiday festivities. Since its inception 30 years ago, Pie in the Sky has raised millions of dollars that directly supports MANNA’s Thanksgiving meal delivery, as well as our year-round work of cooking, packaging, and delivering nourishing meals and providing individualized nutritional counseling for MANNA clients.

Every pie MANNA sells helps provide four to five medically tailored meals to treat our neighbors facing serious disease, such as malnutrition, cancer, HIV/AIDS, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
Whether you’re gifting a pie to a friend, neighbor, or coworker, or treating yourself or your family to Thanksgiving dessert, every purchase plays a role in supporting those in our community with serious health conditions.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN PIE IN THE SKY

1. Select Your Pies: Visit MANNAPies.org and choose from apple, pumpkin, pecan, gluten-free blueberry, or salted caramel cheesecake pies.
2. Choose a Pick-Up Location: With more than a dozen convenient pick-up sites across Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Delaware, you can select the location that’s easiest for you.
3. Pick up Your Pies: On Tuesday, Nov. 26, pick up your pies between noon and 8 p.m. at your chosen location, just in time for Thanksgiving celebrations.
4. Sweeten Employee & Customer Relations: Show appreciation to employees or clients by gifting them a delicious pie, complete with an inspirational message from a MANNA client. For corporate gifting information, contact Helen Kilmartin at hkilmartin@mannapa.org or call (215) 496-2662 x 136.
5. Donate Pies: To maximize your contribution, consider selecting the “Donate a Pie” option, and MANNA will deliver your pie to a local food bank or soup kitchen to help with their Thanksgiving meal distributions.

None of this would be possible without the incredible support from more than 300 volunteers, pie sellers, and partners. Your generous pie purchase not only provides hot Thanksgiving meals to MANNA clients and their families facing illness this holiday season, but it also helps deliver nourishing meals year-round to thousands of people who rely on MANNA to heal and thrive.
