Vaccination Requirement for Volunteers
September 3, 2021
Dear MANNA community,
MANNA continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, and seek ways to maximize the safety and well-being of staff, clients, volunteers, and guests.
Following Emergency Regulation guidance from the Department of Public Health for the City of Philadelphia on vaccines for workers in the healthcare industry and with the dramatic and deadly nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases, MANNA has decided to follow the lead of major health systems and companies, both here in Philadelphia and across the country and require vaccination against COVID-19 for all staff and volunteers.
Beginning October 1, 2021, all MANNA volunteers will be required to present evidence of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to volunteer with MANNA. “Fully vaccinated” is currently defined as fourteen days since administration of a second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines, or fourteen days since the administration of a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
In order to expedite the process and make this as easy as possible for you, please e-mail a copy of your vaccine card to vaccine@mannapa.org or bring in your card or a copy the next time you volunteer. We will update our records by October 1, and it is our hope that you will only need to provide your card one time. Thank you for your patience as we continue to evolve our protocols to keep you safe.
Please note that masks will still be required in our facility. Update: As of March 1, 2022, masks are recommended, but not required, in our facility. Volunteers may bring their own masks. We can provide masks to those who need. Please do not wear bandanas, gaiters, or masks with valves. Tightly-fitting cloth or paper masks are acceptable.
Volunteers with any questions, should please contact Eric Gantz, Director of Operations, at egantz@mannapa.org .
Sincerely,
Sue Daugherty, RDN LDN
